AS A GVGS ALUMNUS, YOU ARE A GREAT CANDIDATE TO BECOME A USSSA SLOWPITCH UMPIRE.  AS A CERTIFIED USSSA UMPIRE, YOU WILL BE ABLE TO UMPIRE GVGS GAMES.  THERE ARE SOME GREAT THINGS ABOUT BEING AN UMPIRE.  You can: 

• stay involved in the game
• be a great role model for young girls
• make money working outside in a fun job
• learn important life skills like decisiveness, self-confidence, how to deal with difficult situations, and professionalism.

When you become an umpire, you get lots of support:

• Umpire training provided by USSSA Minnesota
• USSSA Minnesota uniform scholarship opportunity
• Lots of support from the umpire community, including other umps that officiate GVGS games. 

Umpiring is not easy, and it is not for everyone.  But if you love the game and want to stay involved, it is a great summer part-time job.
