The 2013 Golden Valley Girls Softball season is underway! Despite heavy rains and stormy weather we were able to get a number of Opening Day games completed.

The games are always scheduled for the Saturday of Opening Weekend with Sunday being an option only in case of a total washout. We were greeted Saturday morning with heavy rains with frequent lightning and were forced to cancel the first three rounds of games as the rains didn't stop. At that point the decision was made to cancel the full schedule Saturday as the fields were saturated. We took our chances with Sunday games instead and were able to get all but 2 rounds of games completed.

Thanks to all who volunteered and helped make the fields playable for Sunday. Also thanks to all who showed great patience and flexibility due to the schedule change.
