TRAVEL PROGRAM UPDATE
On July 13th and 14th our travel teams participated in the Midwest Tournament in Burnsville. It was a great showing by all teams, with the 19U team taking 1st place in the 19/16U bracket, the 14U taking 3rd place, and 12U taking 2nd place. Congrats to all teams!
All teams will be participating in the State Tournament on July 27th and 28th.
WELCOME TO GOLDEN VALLEY GIRLS SOFTBALL!
Golden Valley Girls Softball is for girls interested in a fun, slowpitch softball experience. The league's Junior Division is for girls who currently are in 3rd - 6th grade and the Senior Division is for 7th - 12th graders. Practices begin in late April, with games starting in mid-May. The season ends in late-July. Each team is scheduled to play approximately 16-18 regular season games (usually two per week) and two weekend tournaments. Juniors play on Monday/Wednesday nights and Seniors on Tuesday/Thursday nights.
All games and league tournaments are played in Golden Valley in partnership with the Golden Valley Parks and Rec. In 2024, all regular season games are scheduled at Lions Park (151 Louisiana Ave. N., Golden Valley).
GVGS has been a premier softball league for 50 years, having been founded in 1974. Our success is based on a philosophy of "the game is for the girls" and a focus on skills, fundamentals and fun. GVGS is recognized as one of the finest slow-pitch leagues in Minnesota.
We welcome girls from ALL CITIES and we have players from many different cities and schools districts, public and private. All participants receive a uniform t-shirt and all girls play in each game. All girls play, regardless of skill level or past experience.

Players can use their own bat if they choose!
The league will provide each team with several bats. Players also can use their own bat if they so choose, provided the bat meets GVGS specifications and is pre-approved by GVGS. Click the link under the "Policies" tab for GVGS's bat specifications.

UMPIRES NEEDED
If you are a former GVGS player or coach, you are a great candidate to become a USSSA slowpitch umpire. As a certified USSSA umpire, you will be able to umpire GVGS games. There are some great things about being an umpire.
